Miles Davis should need no introduction. However, for those too young to know who Miles Davis was when he was alive, this concert is a great way to figure it out. Miles is performing with John Scofield and Bob Berg. Enjoy!
Came across AWOLNATION quite a while back through a friend which led me to see videos of the song being used for other peoples short films before I ever saw the official video by AWOLNATION. Perhaps my favorite take was of the flying man, Jeb Corliss and his "Grinding The Crack" video, which is first up below, followed by the official video, then followed by one more unofficial fan made video. The song is great and all three videos are pretty darned cool.

The latest music video from the funky San Francisco soul band: Monophonics covering a song written by Sly Stone titled There's A Riot Going On. The music video directed by Tylor Bohlman and made at Third Street Works
The band's website describes their latest album titled In Your Brain:
“.... In Your Brain sits on the fuzzy psych side of soul and funk. Paying homage to innovators of psychedelic soul such as Sly Stone, Norman Whitfield and Funkedelic’s George Clinton...."
The first video below is the rehearsal before a 1992 tribute to Freddy Mercury for David Bowie and Annie Lennox to get tight with the band. The second video is the real show.

David Bowie and Annie Lennox - Rehearsal for Under Pressure
We (the U.S.A.) are still at it. Wars. At least we call them wars. But, the supposed enemy doesn't even wear a uniform. The thing that unifies why they fight us is that we are on their land. They don't need a uniform. But they will use whatever tools they have access to make us want to leave. Isn't that their right, to protect their homeland? Doesn't that make them patriots and not terrorists or insurgents, as our government and news reporters often call them? In my humble opinion, U.S. Military occupation is a form of terrorism. The only difference between military terrorism and suicide terrorism is the weaponry: conventional military grade vs. non-conventional homemade that might include martyrdom. But, if one thinks about it.... many of the kids who join our military are prepared to be martyrs themselves. We must put ourselves in the shoes of those countries whom we attack, invade and occupy. We have never walked in those shoes. We have only been attacked. American has never been invaded and occupied. And the attacks we have suffered have been lightweight, in comparison to what havoc the U.S. has wreaked upon those in far away lands. Wake up U.S.A. and attempt to wear the shoes of the falsely painted enemy.
When I listen to artists such as John Fogerty and groups like Creedence Clearwater Revival, I flash back to when music was a bit more radical and a lot of rockers and other artists were deeply against lame U.S. wars. More artists should stand up, today, and say it like it is.

First heard Dead Sara by way of the Sunset Sessions and stumbled upon this bookmark I saved a couple of years back. Thought and still think the leader of this band rocks. She transcends the crappy recording and jiggly video. This particular recording was made in December of 2007.
Seriously, can't help but love this, for the expression the faces of these young guitarists. One might think youngsters like this would be trained like robots to pull this off, but they each have a level of bliss that is priceless and it seems the groove they have is real. They hear it, they feel it, they get it.

Had seen this particular clip long ago, but today saw it again via Mike Finnigan's Facebook page and had to repost for your enjoyment. Mike wrote: "Everybody knows she's one of the greatest singers evah, but check out her piano playing!" - Enjoy!

Archive member Dave Pen has a new single & video out with his group BirdPen. This single is called Nature Regulate.
BirdPen - Nature Regulate
And, from a few years back, here is a video titled The Dead Factory
Here is the story Dave Pen wrote about the making of the above video:
"The Dead Factory was filmed at the All We Need Project in Luxembourg...
Whilst on travels around Europe supporting Archive I went wondering as one does and found myself slap bang in the middle of the All We Need art project in Luxembourg. So with my Fathers Video Camera in hand i went about and filmed a load of footage...
The huge industrial graveyard was very inspiring and a wonderment to behold...
I was truly lost and amazed in this awesome steel graveyard..
Once home I set about loading the footage in to my slowing pc and thinking about ideas.. I had to keep my brain on the tredmill of thoughts so toyed with a few ideas for a short image based film.
The footage came togther quite easily.I then tried a few different musical ideas and slowly came to a halt and got stuck for 10 days or so..
Luckily for me I was invited to a private viewing at a contempary art gallery in my home town ( I dont go just for the free wine ). The exhibition was called 'Dark Places' and involved the uncovering of sites of secrecy and technology across Britain that all fall under the radar of common Knowledge.
One film in particular gave me great inspiration to finish my short image film. The film was called Voodoo Science Park and was made by Victoria Halford and Steve Beard. It wasnt more about the concept of their film ( which was about a delayed ancounter between poet William Blake and political Philosipher thomas Hobbes all based around a secret laboratory that create and then examine destructive pathways ) but more the feel of it.. The minimal sounds and ghostness of it..
I have based the ideas for the film on lonelyness of structure, isolation and memorys...

Have been following the young songwriter and emerging recording artist, Daniela Brooker, since July 2011. I was impressed by a stripped down performance of what sounded like a potential pop hit with her song entitled Turn It Up. Listen Here!
She has had numerous lucky breaks, such as last year when she picked up a opening slot for a series of international shows for The Saturdays, putting her in front of many new ears. Brooker has lined up some impressive talent to help her develop her recordings and very high quality videos. She sent me a note a confirmed it appears she is a independent artist, not affiliated with any record labels. Kudos!
Here is a track she released in August 2011, but with summer soon approaching, it is worthy of becoming this summer's freedom & love anthem for many around the world. Enjoy!
This song post via Mike Finnigan who is on the road with Bonnie Raitt at present and in New Orleans for a show. He posted the following to his Facebook page:
"I've been coming to New Orleans for 40 years, and it's always a treat. It's got more character than any city in America. A place where the cultural traditions of the people that make up America are honored and celebrated. A day in New Orleans just makes ya feel better than you did, even if you felt good when ya got here. There's music and art all around, all the time, and everywhere I look I see something inspiring, delightfully shabby, charming, shocking, funny. Our hotel in the French Quarter is 125 years old, but comfortable and humming with activity. Life is good..."
Thank you Mike!
