Out of the archives, the perfect song for a very un-perfect year. We recorded Willie Nelson 's classic #OnTheRoadAgain a few years ago but never released it. In thinking about all that can’t happen because of COVID-19, the tours and festivals that had to be postponed or cancelled, the thousands of crew members worldwide out of work, and venues that face a very uncertain future - this old cover felt very timely.
While we can’t be on the road now, we hope this brings everyone some joy and excitement for the future when we can safely be together again. The recordings, as well as the music videos, are wonderfully organic honest reflections of her place in life with all of the ups and downs she has experienced, with old school written all over them. It was recorded live in her home/farm studio with all vintage gear using her regular band and a few special guests (not typical session musicians often play on recordings for big acts) and it's worthy of garnering lots of love from fans who manage to hear it. All of the players make it as tasty as tasty gets. Cactus makes it happen with his prosthetic leg and rehabilitated hand with the custom stick holder. The happiness and contentness of how they went about making the record shows in some of their expressions in the video, where they all seem to be in a great head space.

It took 13 years before Wynonna recorded a record of non cover songs with this record. She managed to avoid the short term whims and supposed tastes of today's demographics, and instead wrote and sang songs that are honest reflections of her place in life with all of the ups and downs she has experienced.

Phil Everly, one half of of the legendary Everly Brothers duo passed away on Friday, January 9, 2014.

Formerly broadcast on TNN (The Nasville Network), this documentary below titled The Life and Times of The Everly Brothers is a worthwhile viewing for those who want to learn more about the legendary music duo made up of brothers Don and Phil Everly. The documentary is filled with comments by Frankie Avalon, Peter Asher, Warren Zevon, Waddy Wachtel, Ted Everly (cousin), Jason Everly (Phil's son), Chet Atkins, Felice Bryant (songwriter), Snuff Garrett (record producer) and Ron Coleman (bass player).

It's been just over over two decades since Sheryl Crow's debut solo album, Tuesday Night Music Club, was released. When the third single titled All I Wanna Do came out, it felt so fresh that one could smell a hit. Two other singles were put out first, but did not grab hold the way All I Wanna Do did.

Backed by a very tasty band of real players, she delivered old fashioned story telling of real poetry. One of the co-writers of the song was poet Wyn Cooper whose poem titled "Fun" was adapted into the song. The song was not going to change the world, but the end result had a little bit of magic that still feels good.

Long before Tuesday Night Music Club was released and launched her career as a solo artist, Crow had paid her musical dues. For many years, she honed her craft as a session and touring vocalist for some of the best of the best, such as Michael Jackson during his Bad world tour. Before that, she had a long list of credits, even doing jingles for major TV commercials, and movie soundtracks record duets with artists like Kenny Loggins. She was a genuine unmanufactured artist long before the success with her first hit song below.

This is the latest track and music video from a young indie artist named Ruby Jane. She is the real deal. Ruby Jane has consistently always bucked the trends, maintaining her own Americana style authenticism without any overproduction. In fact, her mantra appears to be underproduction in terms of her recordings. Her songs may make you forget where you are and suck you in. Her sound is slightly in the vein of Mazzy Star and CocoRosie, but Ruby Jane not attempting to emulate anyone. She has been at it, playing the fiddle/violin, guitar and singing early on in her youth.
